Raining

It’s raining in my world today,
The reason why I can not say.
The sky is covered o’er with clouds,
Like gray curtains or funeral shrouds.

Though it seems dark, there’s light this day,
The sun unseen, still lights our way,
The grass so green, and flowers bright,
Cries this is day, it is not night.

The ditch runs full, its water sends,
Beside the road, around the bends,
And soon it’s gone, and just a dream,
The sun returns, and heavens beam.

It’s raining in my world today,
The reason why, I can not say,
But God has spoke, so let it be,
His will is good enough for me.

About Chuck

I am retired after a career in electronics and in publishing. Today, my wife of 50+ years, Sylvia, and I live in a house on a hill beside a dirt road in rural west Michigan. We enjoy living in this country environment where livestock and wild life out number the human population.

  1. I like this poem a lot. I like the sentiment. I agree completely. Even if it's raining right now, sunny skies are always waiting just behind the clouds.

  2. Hi there! I came over here from Lola's blog…I thought that your name sounded interesting!! Very nice blog you have here…and I love that poem and picture!! 🙂

  3. Very nice poem. I love the little girl in the picture. It does amaze how God creates the different weather to help make the world go round.Too bad we have to mess up his beauty. Like the oil problem.
