W K Kellogg Manor House

On Tuesday, Sylvia, her dad and I joined a group from church to visit the W K Kellogg Manor House at Gull Lake, Michigan.  Twenty of us went in five cars.  It took about an hour to get there.  And this is what we came to see.

We had a half-hour to explore the grounds and walk down the brick and cement paved path and steps to the lake and to look around the gardens.  Then we went into what was the living room on the first floor for an excellent luncheon.

Then our party was joined by the docent who took us on a tour of the house while she told us stories of W K and his family.  It was a fun day.  The camera got left at home, so I don’t have pictures to show you today.  I did pick up a booklet with photos and facts and I’ll share some of those later.  Our friend, Bonnie, had her camera so I should get some photos from her.

Yesterday we had problems with our Internet connection.  It was not working right at bed time last night, but seems to be fine today.  That’s why I’m posting this later than usual today.

  1. Some people just know how to live. Or at any rate, they are good at spending money!

  2. It sounds like a fun trip! I can't wait to see the pictures. We went to Meadow Brook Hall last weekend but cameras weren't allowed.

The Governor accused me of hogging all the bandwith last night because I was uploading a video! Glad (Sad?) to hear it wasn't just us.

P.S. My verification word is hiphe. That makes me think of Sylvia the Rock Star! Maybe that would be hipShe?
