Welcome Guests

Easter Sunday turned out to be a sunny and very pleasant day. Early service at church followed by breakfast in the community center. The choir presented an excellent Easter cantata with DVD video. Then we returned home to prepare for visitors.

The first hyacinth is in full bloom now. As you can see, I’m still having a problem with macro focusing. The first violet is also in bloom.

The best part of the day was when our son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter came for dinner. We had a good meal and then sat around the table playing Skip-Bo. All too soon, it was time for them to return home and we were left alone.

You might think I’m proud of our granddaughter who excels at academics and athletics. If so, you would be absolutely correct. We had a great time with her and her parents.

I hope you also had a blessed Easter weekend.

  1. Ahhh, a cantata! We have recently changed churches, and although I am not one who wants all old music from the hymnbooks I don’t like throwing it all away either. I really longed for some good old uplifting music with actual words that have meanings this Easter season. Sermon was good, but worship was definitely disappointing to me. Sigh. DH is happy with it all though.

  2. I am glad you had a good visit with your family! 🙂 I also had a great day with mine. I love skip bo!

  3. We had a fun, busy Easter Sunday, too. Guess how we finished it? With a game of Skipbo!

  4. Sounds like you had a wonderful Easter. Ours was quiet…took a walk in the cold woods in the afternoon. Good time to just be quiet and reflect upon what Easter really is about.

  5. OMG, Chuck–She is BEAUTIFUL!! Wow! And smart. And talented!! I’m glad you posted her picture because I’ve heard so much about her. You so deserve the right to be proud, how nice they came to spend the day with you. We love skip-bo too–do you play Phase 10 as well? That’s another good one.

Glad to see you had a nice day!

  6. What great genes you passed on to this one beautiful lassie.

I’m glad to hear you had a wonderful Easter Sunday.

  7. Our Easter was spent driving in the rain. We did the egg hunt and cook out (our Easter tradition) at daughter’s on Saturday because of the weather forcasting rain and cold on Sunday. A great time was had by all.

  8. We had early mass too and it was crowded but very good coz it was held outside the church…
It’s great to know that your whole family is present for the Easter Sunday… 🙂
hope you have a wonderful Spring!:)

  9. I came here by way of a link on my friend, Mme. Fearless’ blog. Your granddaughter is indeed beautiful and her eyes project a kind spirit. You should be proud. Glad I took this “Secondary Road” on the information highway. I’ll be back. ~Nards~

  10. Oh my, she is just totally beautiful. Her hair is the most beautiful color. Her lips are amazing!!!!!!! And ya know what? She looks like Sandra Bullock!!!!!!!

Sounds like a fantastic day. Ours was nice too, although I could have skipped the 3-1/2 hour drive to my in-laws’ Saturday and the 3-1/2 hour drive home last night. Ick!
