From the Assignment Desk

It’s that time of year.  The days are getting shorter.  The days (and nights) are cooler.  Old man grasshopper.  Is enjoying life.

This old man is enjoying life as well.  The warmth of the sun and the cool of the evening bring joy to each day.

Each new day brings another story and a new delight.  My assignment is to discover and enjoy.

  1. This grasshopper has a very “cute” face (I think , anyway)..that it’s a grasshopper!! Nice picture !!

  2. I hope you’re able to complete your assignment every day. I just keep trying to be more positive about the end of summer every year.

    • If you don’t look forward to what follows, but live in the moment savoring each sight, sound and smell, you’ll find it a joy to celebrate this time of year.

  3. I love the end of summer…cooler evenings..dewy mornings and grasshoppers jumping this way and that. The frogs are fattening up as well….feasting on bees, dragonflies and flies.

    • It is my favorite time of year too, for much the same reasons. Celebrated my 76th birthday recently, and later this week will be our 55th wedding anniversary. Mostly I love the cooler air and warm earth with the odor of harvest time in the air. I particularly enjoy the smell of autumn apples–either raw or in a hot pie with a wedge of sharp cheddar to go along. :food:
